ABOUT US

I started sailing in his teens and while in college sailed for fun using the college's boats.  After graduating I spent a year working in a boatyard and bought my first boat; an old wooden Hampton One design.   Eventually I got a real job that would pay the bills and bought a Laser to sail when time permitted.  Over the years I got access to larger boats and started crewing for other people, eventually making offshore passages and races to Bermuda.  I've since built/restored a few boats and do most of the work on our Canadian Sailcraft 36M  DIANTHUS that Carol and I bought 6 years ago.
More about David here...

Carol was not a sailor when we started dating but she figured with an email address like "sailordave" she could at least get to go sailing.  Little did she know...  After 5 years of dating and going sailing on a few different boats and following the race trackers when I was off racing she was excited for us to buy our own cruising/racing boat.  Having made a few deliveries to/from Newport RI and the Chesapeake as well as to Florida, she was ready to take on the role as "the 2" being my double handed partner in the Bermuda 1-2 Race this past June.
Carol also does watercolors, mostly of boats...
